16
Q

collateral ligaments

A

(radial and ulnar) collateral ligaments prevent movements other than flexion and extention

17
Q

intermuscular septum

A

separates arm into anterior (flexor) and posteror (extensor) compartments; medial and lateral; thick layer of fascia

18
Q

flexor compartment

A

anterior side of arm; contains 3 muscles that flex the arm

19
Q

extensor compartment

A

posterior side of arm; contains triceps

20
Q

coracobrachialis

A

O: coracocoid process, I: midshaft of humerus on medial side, N: musculocutaneous, A: flexs and adducts at glenohumeral joint

21
Q

biceps brachii

A

O: short head = coracoid process, long head = supraglenoid tubercle of scapula, I: radial tuberosity, N: musculocutaneous, A: weak flexor of shoulder, powerful flexor at supinator at elbow

22
Q

brachialis

A

O: distal half of anterior humerus, I: ulnar tuberosity, N: musculocutanous, A: flexor at elbow

23
Q

radial tuberosity

A

bony prominance on proximal portion of radius, insertion for biceps brachii

24
Q

triceps brachii

A

O: long head = infraglenoid tubercle, lateral head: posterior side of humerus superior to radial groove, medial head: posterior side of humerus inferior to radial groove, I: Olecranon of ulna, N: Radial nerve, A: extends the forearm (long head can also extent arm)

25
Q

infraglenoid tubercle

A

small bump on inferior aspect of glenoid cavity that provides origin for long head of triceps brachii

26
Q

radial groove

A

groove on shaft of humerus containing radial nerve and deep brachial artery

27
Q

radial nerve

A

terminal branch of posterior cord of brachial plexus; innervates all muscles on posteior compartment of arm and extensor compartment of forearm

28
Q

ulnar tuberosity

A

Bony prominence on anterior suface of ulna, distal to coronoid process, insertion of brachiallis

29
Q

musculocutaneous nerve

A

arises from lateral cord of brachial plexus. ID: pierces coracobrachialis, travels b/t biceps and brachialis, emerges lateral to biceps tendon @ elbow where name changes to lateral antebracial cutaneous nerve

30
Q

lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve

A

innervates skin of anterolateral forearm; derives from musculocutaneous nerve @ elbow

31
Q

median nerve

A

no branches in the arm; arises from contributions of lateral and medial cords of brachial plexus

32
Q

ulnar nerve

A

no brances in the arm, comes from medial cord of bracial plexus

33
Q

bracial artery

A

axillary artery becomes brachial artery as it passes teres major

34
Q

Arteries of arm

A
35
Q

Veins of arm

A
36
Q

Veins of cubital fossa

A
37
Q

cubital fossa

A

anterior aspect of elbow

38
Q

A
39
Q

A

flat broad tendon overlying cubital fossa arteries and nerves
