How many more times is the reward for praying in the congregation?
Salah done in congregation is 27 more superior than Salah done individually
عنْ عائِشَةَ رَضِي اللَّه عنهَا قالَت : آانَ النَّبيُّ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم إذا صلَّى رَآْعَتي الْفَجْرِ
اضْطَجع على شِقِّهِ الأَيْمنِ . رواه البخاريُّ .
1110Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: When the Prophet (PBUH) had performed two Rak
ah
before the Fajr prayer, he would lie down on his right side.
عن ابنِ عمَر رضي اللَّه عنهما أَنَّ رسولَ اللَّه صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال : «صَلاةُ الجَمَاعَةِ أَفضَلُ مِنْ
صَلاةِ الفَذِّ بِسَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ درَجَةً » متفقٌ عليه .
1064 Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Salat in
congregation is twenty-seven times more meritorious than a Salat performed individually.’’
1066 وعنهُ قالَ : أَتَى النبيَّ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم رَجُلٌ أَعمى فقال : يا رسولَ اللَّهِ ، لَيْس لي قَائِدٌ يقُودُني
إِلي المَسْجِدِ ، فَسأَلَ رسولَ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم أَن يُرَخِّصَ لَهُ فَيُصَليِّ في بيْتِهِ ، فَرَخَّص لَهُ ، فَلَمَّا وَلىَّ
دَعَاهُ فقال له : هلْ تَسْمَعُ النِّدَاءَ بِالصَّلاةِ ؟ » قال : نَعَمْ ، قال : « فَأَجِبْ » رواه مسلم .
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A blind man came to the Messenger of Allah
(PBUH) and said: “O Messenger of Allah! I have no one to guide me to the mosque.’’ He, therefore, sought his
permission to perform Salat (prayer) in his house. He (PBUH) granted him permission. When the man turned away,
he called him back, and said, “Do you hear the Adhan (call to prayer)?’’ He replied in the affirmative. The
Messenger of Allah (PBUH) then directed him to respond to it
1075 وعن ابنِ عمرَ رضيَ اللَّه عنهما قال : قالَ رسولُ اللَّه صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم : «بُنِيَ الإِسَلامُ على
خَمْسٍ : شَهادَةِ أَنْ لا إِلهَ إِلاَّ اللَّه ، وأَنَّ مُحمداً رسولُ اللَّهِ ، وإِقامِ الصَّلاةِ ، وَإِيتاءِ الزَّآاةِ ، وَحَجِّ البَيْتِ ،
وَصَوْمِ رَمضانَ » متفقٌ عليه .
Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Islam is based
on five (pillars): testifying that there is no true god except Allah and that Muhammad (PBUH) is His slave and
Messenger; performing of Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat); the payment of Zakat; performing Hajj (pilgrimage) to the House
[of Allah (Ka
bah)]; and Saum (fasting) during the month of Ramadan.’’
وعن أَبي هُريْرةَ رضي اللَّه عنهُ قالَ : قال رسولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم : «إِنَّ أَوَّل ما يُحاسبُ بِهِ
العبْدُ يَوْم القِيامةِ منْ عَملِهِ صلاتُهُ ، فَإِنْ صَلُحت ، فَقَدْ أَفَلحَ وَأَنجح ، وإن فَسدتْ ، فَقَدْ خَابَ وخَسِر ، فَإِنِ
انْتقَص مِنْ فِريضتِهِ شَيْئاً ، قال الرَّبُّ ، عَزَّ وجلَّ : انظُروا هَلْ لِعَبْدِي منْ تَطَوُّع ، فَيُكَمَّلُ بها ما انْتَقَص مِنَ
الفَرِيضَةِ ؟ ثُمَّ تكونُ سَائِرُ أَعمالِهِ عَلى هذا » رواه الترمذي وقال حديث حسن
- Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The first of
man’s deeds for which he will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection will be Salat. If it is found to be
perfect, he will be safe and successful; but if it is incomplete, he will be unfortunate and a loser. If any shortcoming
is found in the obligatory Salat, the Glorious and Exalted Rubb will command to see whether His slave has offered
any voluntary Salat so that the obligatory Salat may be made up by it. Then the rest of his actions will be treated in
the same manner.’’
1080 وعن شقِيق بنِ عبدِ اللَّهِ التابعيِّ المُتَّفَقِ على جَلالتهِ رَحِمهُ اللَّه قال : آانَ أَصْحابُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلّى االلهُ
عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم لا يرونَ شَيْئاً مِنَ الأَعْمالِ تَرْآُهُ آُفْرٌ غَيْرَ الصَّلاةِ . رواه الترمذي في آتاب الإِيمان بإِسنادٍ صحيح
Shaqiq bin `Abdullah reported: The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) did not consider the
abandonment of any action as disbelief except neglecting Salat.
2 عَن جابِرِ بْنِ سمُرةَ ، رضي اللَّه عنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : خَرجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم فَقَالَ : «
أَلا تَصُفُّونَ آما تُصُفُّ الملائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا ؟ » فَقُلْنَا : يا رسُولَ اللَّهِ وَآَيْفَ تَصُفُّ الملائِكةُ عِند ربِّها ؟ قال : «
يُتِمُّونَ الصُّفوفَ الأُولَ ، ويَتَراصُّونَ في الصفِّ» رواه مسلم .
- Jabir bin Samurah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came out to us (once) and said, “Why do you not stand in rows as the angels do before their Rubb?’’ We asked: “O Messenger of Allah! how do the angels stand in rows before their Rubb?’’ He (PBUH) replied, “They complete each row beginning with the first and filling all the gaps.’’
وعَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم : «خَيْرُ صُفوفِ الرِّجالِ أَوَّلُهَا ، وشرُّها آخِرُهَا
وخيْرُ صُفوفِ النِّسَاءِ آخِرُها ، وَشرُّهَا أَوَّلُهَا » رواه مسلم .
- Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The best of the men’s rows (in Salat) is the first row and the worst is the last, but the best of the woman’s row is the last and the worst of their rows is the first.’’
عنْ أُمِّ المؤمِنِينَ أُمِّ حبِيبَةَ رَمْلةَ بِنتِ أَبي سُفيانَ رضيَ اللَّه عنهما ، قَالتْ : سَمِعْتُ رسولَ اللَّه صَلّى
االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم يقولُ :« مَا مِنْ عبْدٍ مُسْلِم يُصَلِّي للَّهِ تَعَالى آُلَّ يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَيْ عشْرةَ رَآْعَةً تَطوعاً غَيْرَ الفرِيضَةِ ،
إِلاَّ بَنَى اللَّه لهُ بَيْتاً في الجَنَّةِ ، أَوْ : إِلاَّ بُنِي لَهُ بيتٌ في الجنَّةِ» رواه مسلم .
- Umm Habibah (May Allah be pleased with her) the Mother of the Believers reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying, “A Muslim who offers 12 Rakat optional salah, apart from the compulsory salah, for the sake fo Allah in the night and day, Allah(ta) will build a house for him in paradise. or a house is built for him in paradise.
1100 عن عائشةَ رضِيَ اللَّه عنْهَا ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم آانَ لا يدَعُ أَرْبعاً قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ ، ورَآْعَتَيْنِ
قبْلَ الغَدَاةِ .
رواه البخاري .

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) never omitted four Rak
ah prayer
before the Zuhr prayer and two Rak`ah prayers before dawn (Fajr) prayer.
وَعنْها عَنِ النبي صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قالَ : « رَآْعتا الفجْرِ خيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنيا ومَا فِيها » رواه مسلم .
وفي ورايةٍ : «لَهُمَا أَحب إِليَّ مِنَ الدُّنْيا جميعاً » .

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The two Rak
ah before the dawn (Fajr) prayer are better than this world and all it contains.’’
Another narration goes: “The two Rak`ah before the dawn (Fajr) prayer are dearer to me than the whole world.’’
وعَنْ عائِشَة رَضِيَ اللَّه عنْهَا ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم آان لا يدعُ أَرْبعاً قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ ، رواه
البخاريُّ .

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) never left out four Rak
ah before the Zuhr prayers.
وعن أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّه عنها قَالَتْ : قال رسولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم : «منْ حَافظَ عَلى أَرْبَعِ
رآعَاتٍ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ ، وَأَرْبعٍ بَعْدَهَا ، حَرَّمهُ اللَّه على النَّارَ » .
- Umm Habibah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Whoever upholds four Rak`ah before Zuhr prayer and four after the Zuhr prayer, Allah will prohibit him against the Fire (of Hell).
وعَنْ جابرٍ رَضِي اللَّه عَنْهُ قالَ : قَالَ رسولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم : « إذا قَضَى أَحَدُآُمْ صلاتَهُ في
مسْجِدِهِ ، فَلَيجْعَلْ لِبَيْتهِ نَصِيباً مِنْ صَلاتِهِ ، فَإنَّ اللَّه جَاعِلٌ في بيْتِهِ مِنْ صلاتِهِ خَيْراً » رواه مسلم .
- Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him)reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “When any of you has offered his Salah in his masjid, he should set aside some salah for this house. Allah(TA) will most certainly place some good in his house by virtue of his Salah “
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رضِيَ اللَّه عنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : مِنْ آُلِّ الليْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَر رسولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم مِنْ أَوَّلِ
اللَّيْلِ ، ومَن أَوْسَطِهِ ، وَمِنْ آخِرِهِ . وَانْتَهى وِتْرُهُ إلى السَّحَرِ . متفقٌ عليه .
- `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) observed Witr prayer in every part of night at the beginning, middle and at the last part. He (PBUH), however, would finish his Witr prayer in the last part of the night.
وعنِ ابنِ عُمرَ رَضِيَ اللَّه عَنْهمَا ، عَنِ النَّبيِّ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ : «اجْعلوا آخِرَ صلاتِكُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ
وِتْراً » متفقٌ عليه
- Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Make Witr prayer the last of your Salat at night.’’
وعَنْ جابرٍ رضِي اللَّه عنْهُ ، قَالَ : قالَ رسولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم : « منْ خَاف أَنْ لا يَقُوم مِنْ
آخرِ اللَّيْلِ ، فَليُوتِرْ أَوَّلَهُ ، ومنْ طمِع أَنْ يقُومَ آخِرَهُ ، فَليوتِرْ آخِر اللَّيْل ، فإِنَّ صلاة آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ مشْهُودةٌ ،
وذلكَ أَفضَلُ » رواه مسلم .
- Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him)reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “whoever fears that he will not be able to wake up in the last part of the night should offer the witr salah in the first part. whoever desires waking up in the last part should offer the witr salah in the last part. Salah offered in the last part in the night is attended (by the angels of mercy) and that is superior’’ (Muslim)
1147 وعَنْ أَبي هُريرةَ رَضِيَ اللَّه عَنْهُ ، قالَ : قالَ رسولُ اللَّه صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم : «خيْرُ يوْمِ طلعَتْ
عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الجُمُعَةِ : فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدمُ ، وَفيه أُدْخِلَ الجَنَّةَ ، وفيه أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا » رواه مسلم .
- Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On that day Adam was created, he was admitted to Jannah, and he was removed from it.’’
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ : قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم : « مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فأَحْسَنَ الوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ أَتى الجُمُعَةَ،
فاسْتَمَعَ وَأَنْصتَ ، غُفِرَ لَهُ ما بَيْنَه وَبَيْنَ الجُمُعَةِ وزِيَادة ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ، وَمَنْ مَسَّ الحَصَى ، فَقَدْ لَغَا » رواه
مسلم .
- Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “If anyone performs Wudu’ properly, then comes to the Friday prayer, listens to the Khutbah and keeps silent, his sins between that Friday and the following Friday will be forgiven, plus another three more days; but whoever plays with pebbles has engaged in useless activity ‘’
وَعَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قالَ : « الصَّلَواتُ الخَمْسُ والجُمُعةُ إلى الجُمعةِ ، وَرَمَضَانُ إلى
رمَضَانَ ، مُكَفِّرَاتٌ ما بيْنَهُنَّ إذا اجْتُنِبَتِ الكبَائِرُ » رواه مسلم .
- Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him)reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “The five daily Salat, and Friday to the next Friday (prayer), and the fasting of Ramadan to the next Ramadan, are all redemption for the time between them provided the major sins are abstained from’’
وَعَنْهُ وعَنِ ابنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّه عَنْهُمْ ، أَنَّهما سَمِعَا رسولَ اللَّه صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم يقولُ عَلَى
أَعْوَادِ مِنْبَرِهِ : « لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ عَنْ وَدْعِهِمُ الجمُعَاتِ ، أَوْ لَيَخْتِمَنَّ اللَّه على قُلُوبِهمْ ، ثُمَّ ليَكُونُنَّ مِنَ الغَافِلينَ
» رواه مسلم .
- Ibn `Umar and Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: We heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying while sitting on his pulpit: “People should most definitely stop abandoning the Jumuah Salah or else Allah(ta) will seal their hearts and they will most certainly be included among the headless’
1151 وَعَن ابنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّه عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَسولَ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم ، قالَ : «إِذا جاَءَ أَحَدُآُمُ
الجُمُعَةَ ، فَليَغْتَسِلْ » متفقٌ عليه .
- Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “When one of you intends to come for the Friday prayer, he should take a bath.’’
1156 وعَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم ذآر يَوْمَ الجُمُعَةِ ، فَقَالَ : « فِيها سَاعَةٌ لا يُوَافِقها عَبْدٌ
مُسلِمٌ ، وَهُو قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي يسأَلُ اللَّه شَيْئاً ، إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاه » وَأَشَارَ بِيدِهِ يُقَلِّلُهَا ، متفقٌ عليه.
- Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said while talking about the merits of Friday, “There is a time on Friday at which a Muslim, while he (or she) is performing Salat and is supplicating, will be granted whatever he (or she) is supplicating for.’’ And he (PBUH) pointed with his hand to indicate that this period of time is very short.
