16
Q

What are producers and why are plants producers?

A

Producers are organisms that can make their own food. Plants are producers because all plants can produce their own food from the sun.

17
Q

What are consumers and why are animals consumers?

A

Consumers need to consume other organisms to get the energy they need. All animals are consumers because all animals cannot produce their own food.

18
Q

What’s are decomposers? Give two examples of decomposers.

A

Decomposers (Eg. Bacteria and fungi) are organisms that break down dead matter and waste then return it to the soil. Decomposers are extremely important because they prevent our dead matter from building up and they give plants the nutrients they need.
