What are the control measures for a spill?

A
  • Minor spill: Small quantities if chemicals which can be cleaned up using kitty litter
  • Major spill: will require more spill material such as #M chemical sorbent pads and / or chemical sorbent mini brooms.
    To deal with spills, all laboratories must have a prepared spill kit in an accessible area. The location of the kit must clearly be displayed and signed.
    SDS contains: the materials required for containing and removing liquids. Appropriate disposal. PPE to be worn.
