How do proton pump inhibitors work?
(H. Pylori & PUD) Decrease acid by inhibiting proton pumps

C. diff (usually after 4-8 weeks)
Esomeprazole- pneumonia(no lung problems)
Take 30 minutes before breakfast with water

How do mucosal protectants work?
(PUD) Coats esophagus and stomach lining, covering ulcer
Mucosal protectant(sucralfate) funky stuff
Take QID: 30 minutes before meals and once before bed
Eat a bland diet, can dissolve pill in liquid(huge pill)
