Where are Adolescent/Juvenile Offenders prosecuted?*
A
‘Youth Part’ of Superior Courts
- Separate from Family Courts
- Rehab services available through local probation depts => NO criminal record (UNLESS Offender is convicted/takes plea)
Family Court (under ‘certain circumstances’)
- Reduction of Felony to Misdemeanour
- Removal in interests of justice
