What are primary headaches?
Headaches not associated with an underlying condition, including tension, migraine, and cluster headaches.
What are secondary headaches?

What is trigeminal neuralgia?
A neuropathic disorder of the 5th cranial nerve, most often affecting the maxillary and/or mandibular branch.
What does SOCRATES stand for in headache assessment?
A mnemonic for assessing headache characteristics: Site, Onset, Character, Radiation, Associated symptoms, Timing, Exacerbating/relieving factors.
What are the red flags in headache assessment?
SNOOP: Systemic symptoms and signs, New neuro deficits, Onset, Older age of onset, Pattern change.
What is subarachnoid hemorrhage?
Bleeding on the surface of the brain, often caused by head trauma or a brain aneurysm.
What are the symptoms of a brain tumor?
Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, progressive limb weakness, visual disturbance, and personality changes.

Severe unilateral pain localized around the eye, associated with ipsilateral autonomic features like watery eyes and runny nose.
What are the management options for migraines?
Relaxation techniques, riboflavin, NSAIDs, specific anti-migraine drugs such as triptans, and migraine prophylaxis like propranolol.
What is cervicogenic headache?
Described as somatic referred pain from the upper cervical spine, particularly C1-3.
What are common triggers for trigeminal neuralgia?
Vibration, skin contact, and oral intake.
What is the management for cervicogenic headaches?
Includes medications, addressing biopsychosocial factors, simple manual therapy, and exercises.
