A
problems with vaginal discharge? sexually active? any issues with sex? pain, bleeding, discharge, emotional number of sexual partners any previous problems? smear history? contraception? chance of pregnancy? general - smoking, drugs, general health screen

A
rhythm method barrier methods - condoms, diaphragm IUD sterilization combined oral contraceptive pill contraceptive ring progesterone only pill injection implant IUS

What are the important rare side effects of OCP?
A
VTE, CV risk
shouldnt be used in women >35 who smoke
shouldnt be used in people with focal migraines
interact with some medications - rifampicin, OTC (st. johns wort)

In terms of obstetric history what questions should you ask?
A
parity = number of births (0=nulliparous, 1=primiparous, >1 multiparous) gravidity = number of pregnancies difficulties conceiving how many pregnancies - list all whether how many children (triplets, twins) how many fathers what sort of deliveries duration of pregnancy - episiotomy / tears
