Q
What is the treatment for cervical cancer?
A
Very small cancers can be treated by conisation with free margins if aiming to spare fertility
Radical trachelectomy can be done for slightly more advanced, when aiming to spare fertility
Laparoscopic hysterectomy and lymphadenectomy for women for early-stage cancer when infertility isn’t an issue
For invasive, infiltrating and early metastatic cancer a radical hysterectomy can be performed
Radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy if there’s spread outside the cervix and uterus
