Gum Recession Flashcards
NBDE II
The difference between Miller class I vs Class II Gingival Recession.
The recession has not extended to MGJ in Class I, whereas the recession has extended beyond MGJ (MUCOGINGIVAL JUNCTION) in Class II
Class III and Class IV Miller
In class III: The recession extend beyond MGJ with bone loss and papilla Receding. In class IV: There is a bone loss that extended to the base of recession defect.
Clinical attachment loss
The overall amount of periodontal attachment loss and is measured by adding the amount of gingival recession to the periodontal pocket depth.
Pocket depth 7mm and the free gingival margin is 2mm apical to CEJ. How much the attachment loss?
9mm.
