Q

Definition of suspended (sus) chord

A

The 3rd (M or m) is omitted. Either replaced with a perfect 4th (sus4 chord) or a major 2nd (less common). (A major 2nd is a half step down from a minor 3rd. So in C, the minor 3rd is Eb and the major 2nd is D)
