  • Pododermatitis is commonly seen on the palmar surface of the feet of animals housed on rough wire cage floors. Feet are swollen with crust-covered ulcers. There may be involvement of regional lymph nodes.

What is Bacterial Pneumonia in Guinea Pigs?

A

•Rats and humans can serve as carriers.
•Abscess formation, usually in the cervical lymph nodes (cervical lymphadenitis or ‘lumps’).
•Respiratory signs may include nasal discharge,anorexia, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, torticollis, dyspnea, and acute death.
•Pregnant dams may abort.
