Why is IoT devices often low security?
A
There are many security conserns for Iot devices :
- Lack of updates
- Legacy systems
- Low server storage
- often zero privacy
- Smart cars and pacemakers also have additional ethical concerns

- SRAM snapshots
- Flash content
- File carving
- Logs
- GPS / Accelerometer data
- Timestamps correlation
Also, acquiring control over IoT devices (often through bad Telnet configurations) is sought after for people looking to add devices to a botnet. Large numbers of vulnerable IoT devices can be handy for attackers looking to carry out large-scale DDoS attacks. The Mirai botnet is an example.
