Common sx: pelvic pain and pressure
Pyelonephritis

Common sx: Flank pain/ CVA tenderness, fever, chills, N/V

Agonizing flank pain, may radiate to groin, testicles, abdominal area
Sharp, sudden, severe pain: (may be intermittent, depending on stone movement)

Renal stone analysis
Retrograde pyelogram

Urinary stasis & retention
Immobility
Dehydration
Increased uric acid
Increased oxalate
Family history
Signs and symptoms
** Nephrolithiasis**
Costovertebral angle pain (FLANK PAIN)
Hematuria
** Ureterolithiasis**
Flank, side, or lower abdomen pain
Pain radiation to genitalia
Intense urge to void
Frequency, dysuria, reduced output
Hematuria
Nausea, vomiting
Extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy
