- collection of individuals INTERACTING with one another. 2. A social unit consisting of two or more who think of themselves as part of the group
- who are INTERDEPENDANT 4. JOIN TOGETHER to achieve a goal. 5. STRUCTURED by a set of codes and rules 6. trying to satisfy a need through JOINT ASSOCIATION 7. INFLUENCE one another.

Cohesivness
A
think and act in line with a collection of others (Fine & Holyfield, 1996). Cohesive groups are more influential on one another and more committed. However, more members lead to less commitment (Crips & Turner, 2014).

A
a property of a group which embodies cohesiveness, interconnectedness, common goals, similarity.

Benefits of group membership
A
sense of belonging, worth, and value. (Tajfel, 1972). beneficial to mental and physical health, connects us to other people
