A
they are all diatomic-2 atoms joined together as a molecule. all of them have 7 outer shell electrons

what happens as you go down group 7
A
the mass of the atoms gets heavier because there are more electrons
the number of electron shells gets bigger because the atom gets bigger
the reactivity (with hydrogen) decreases

why does the reactivity decrease
A
the reactivity (with hydrogen) decreases because the outer shell is further away from the nucleus so there is a smaller attraction. this makes it harder to gain another electron so it is less reactive
