Affirm
Hand raised, thumb up
Stop
Arms crossed above head, palms facing forward
Negative
Hold right arm slightly outwards from body, with hand displaying thumbs down
This way
Arms above heard in vertical position with palms facing inwards
Proceed to next Marshaller
Right and left arm held vertically with hands point up, move and extend arms outwards to the sides of the body and point to direction of next marshaller
Electrical power connect
Hands above head, left fist partially clenched, right hand moved in direction of left hand with first two fingers extended and inserted into circle made by fingers of the left hand
Electrical power disconnect
Hands above head, left fist partially clenched, right hand moved away from left hand, withdrawing two fingers from circle made by fingers of the left hand
Start engine
Left hand overhead with appropriate number of fingers extended to indicate the number of engines to be started and circular motion of right clenched hand at head level
Cut engine
Either arm and hand level with shoulder, hand moving across throat, palm facing downward
Fire
Make a rapid horizontal figure of 8 motion at waist level with either arm, pointing to the source of the first either the other arm
Flaps lower
Hands in front, palms together horizontally then opening from waist in a crocodile mouth fashion
Flaps raise
Hands in front horizontally, with palms open from the wrist, the suddenly closed
Chocks in
Arms down, fists closed, thumbs extended inwards, swing arms from extended position inwards
Chocks removed
Arms down, fists closed, thumbs extended outwards, swing arms outwards
Move ahead
Arms apart a little, palms facing forward and repeatedly moved upwards and backwards to shoulder height
Slow down
Arms down with palms toward the ground, then moved up several times.
Turn left
Point right arm downwards, left arm is repeatedly moved upwards and backwards. Speed of arm movement indicates the rate of turn
Turn right
Point left arm downwards, right hand repeatedly moved upwards and backwards. Speed of arm movement indicates rate of turn
Brakes on
Arms above head, open palms and fingers raised with palms towarss the aircraft, then fist closed
Brakes off
Reverse of ON signal
Request by marshaller to move personnel towards aircraft
Either hand raised vertically overhead, palm towards the aircraft. The other hand held horizontally and indicating personnel wishing to approach the aircraft
Request/clearance for personnel to approach the aircraft
A beckoning motion with right hand at eye level
Personnel approach the aircraft
Either hand raised vertically overhead, palm facing towards the aircraft. The other hand indicates to the personnel wanting to approach and gesture towards aircraft.
