What is the most common type of hernia?
Inguinal or femoral hernias
Protrusion of abdominal contents through a weak area in the abdominal wall into the inguinal canal or femoral ring.
What is lymphadenopathy?
Swollen lymph nodes in the groin
Can be due to local infection, systemic illness, or malignancies.
What does saphena varix present as?
A soft, compressible, blue swelling above and medial to the femoral pulse
It is a varicose vein of the saphenous vein.
What is a femoral artery aneurysm?
A rare condition presenting as a pulsatile mass
Femoral artery aneurysms are not common.
What types of soft tissue tumors can present as masses in the groin?
Lipomas and sarcomas
These are types of soft tissue tumors that can occur in the groin area.
What can abscess or hematoma in the groin occur secondary to?
Infection or trauma

What is a psoas abscess?
A rare cause of a groin mass that can arise from an intra-abdominal or spinal infection
It is an uncommon condition that may lead to significant complications.
What are the steps for a lump examination?
Examination of a Lump:
LOOK (5S CP): Site, Size, Shape, Surface, Scars, Colour, Pulsation
PALPATION (TTT FFF PER):
TTT: Temperature, Tenderness, Transilluminable
FFF: Fluctuance, Fixed, Fields (LN drainage)
PER: Pulsatile, Expansible, Reducible
