Increased greenhouse gas emissions caused by changes to human activity.
Why is it difficult to create accurate models of the global climate system?
It’s very complicated.

People speculate about climate change based on simpler models and non reliable information.
What would the melting of polar ice caps cause?
Sea levels to rise, leading to flooding. Some species to be less successful hunters (e.g. polar bear).
What could happen to meteorological events if the global temperature is increased?
Storms, heatwaves, and droughts could increase in frequency and intensity.
What would changes in water availability affect?
Affect how species are distributed.
What would changes in precipitation cause?
The quantity, timing, and distribution of precipitation. This would result in some regions receiving much less or much more rainfall than usual.
What would food shortages cause?
Potential famines.
