Oedipus Rex
Story where Oedipus tries to find the bad man poisoning Thebes, and with help from Teiresias, realizes that he is it for killing his father and marrying his mother. Oedipus pokes out his eyes and leaves with Antigone until he dies. Jocasta (mother/wife) kills herself. Her brother Creon takes over.

Function is to accomplish catharsis. Where Polyneices flees when his brother refuses to give his thrown. He raises Argive army to battle Eteocles
Corinth
The king and queen of here adopted Oedipus (Laios and Jocastas son), and named him it for his swollen foot because of the pin through it.
