a method developed by Socrates used to develop critical thinking skills. it is dialogue between a teacher and a student

a civilization based on the greek mainland. they were the first to speak the greek language and were influenced by the Minoans

someone who relocated from a foreign country to Athens. they had the rights of citizens but held a lower social status
oligarchy
a type of government run by a small group of the upper class

a confederation led by Sparta to bring protection from uprisings
