Red, blue and yellow

Orange, green and purple
What are tertiary colours?
Tertiary colours are mixes of primary and secondary colours
Describe the use of warm colours
Warm colours give a feeling of warmth and can be used to show if something is hot
Describe the use of cool colours
Cool colours give a feeling of coolness and can be used to show if something is cold
What are advancing colours?
Colours that appear to come towards you when you look at them
What are receding colours?
Colours that appear to move into the background when you look at them
Describe the use of squares and rectangles
they are seen as boring but tend to be trusted
Describe the use of Circles and ellipses
they give off a feeling of safety and reliability
Describe the use of triangles
they can be used to show conflict and strength
Describe the use of lines
they can be used to show movement, points of interest, separate parts of a layout and add depth

Line, shape, texture, size, colour, mass/weight

Alignment, balance, contrast, depth, dominance, unity, white space, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, grid structure
What are the neutral colours?
Brown, black, white and grey
Describe the use of neutral colours
To create format and make simple presentations
Name the four types of alignment
Left, Right, fully justified and centred
Describe contrast
Contrast is where opposites are used to make shape, text and colour stand out more
What do array tools do?
Allows you to repeat the same shape in a straight line. a box or circle
What is the offset tool?
Allows you to create a line, curve or shape a specified distance away from a line or shape
What is the revolve tool?
Allows a sketch to be rotated around a centre axis to create a 3d shape
What is the loft tool?
Allows for the creation of shapes with different cross sections to be joined together
What is a helix?
A spring like 3d shape that can have a regular or angled path that follows a constant or varied pitch
What is the shell tool?
Allows for you to hollow out a 3d object with a constant wall thickness
What is the chamfer tool?
Allows you to add an angle to an edge on a 3d shape
