When ending with vowel?
Use double word
A - aa ; E.g. KA - KAA
I - ii ; E.g. KI - KII
U - uu ; E.g. KU - KUU
E - EE ; E.g. KE - KEE
O - OO; E.g. KO - KOU
Before N, M, P, B ->

The “I” and “U” sounds are reduced when unstressed in position between two unvoiced consonants or at the end of a word.
E.g. Desu
In order to show that the vowels [U], [O] are long,
Use the symbol う [ U] and placed
after the vowel that we want to make longer.
Some of the cases of the [ O ] prolonged with お.
Symbol denoting a consonant’s length
Place the symbol つ [ TSU] in front of it.
E.g. けっこん [ kekkon]
When it comes together with the sounds ん [ n ]
E.g. おんな [onna]
Syllables with iotized vowels
Attached to the second line of each row of the hiragana ending in the vowel I.
E.g. きゃ[ kya]
Iotized vowels are written in the lower left corner of a separate square in small size.
