• Descrever hábitos e/ou rotinas. Everyday Mônica eats a sandwich at breakfast
• Descrever situações permanentes. Ex: John works at the school as a teacher
• Descrever fatos. Ex: every autumn the leaves of the tree falls

5 situations we use present continuous

Answer 2

• Descrever uma ação que está acontecendo no momento. Ex: Sarah is sleeping on the couch
• Descrever uma ação temporária. Ex: We are staying with Jo while we look for another place to stay
• Falar de situações que estão mudando ou evoluindo. Ex: Shopping online is becoming very popular between younger people
• Junto com “always” para mostrar aborrecimento ou surpresa. Ex: My brother is always borrowing my phone without asking me first
• Para se referir a futuros compromissos. Ex: I am having dinner with Adam tomorrow night

• NÃO usamos com present continuous. Exceção: quando são usados para descrever ações. Ex: John is having a shower right now
• Usamos para descrever algo relacionado à existência (como posse) ou sentimento
