To express ownership in Jamaican Creole is quite simple, you add the preposition “___” in front of the subject.
“Fi”
Example. Fi Harr (hers) Feem (his) Fi Mi (my) Fi Yuh (your) Fi Dem (their) Fi Wi (our) Fi Unno (you guy's)
To make verbs negative in Patwa you add the word “___” in front of the conjugated verb to make it negative.
“Nuh”
Example
Mi nuh know (I don’t know)
Nouns in Patwa has a definite article, which is “___”. is used in the equivalence of “the”. The indefinite article is “___”
“Di” /definate article
“A” /indefinite article
Example
Di buoy/buai- the boy
A buoy/buai- a boy
To make nouns plural, you add “___” to the ending of the verb, with an hyphen between the noun and ___.
“Dem”
Example Di people–> Di people-dem Di buai–> Di buai-dem Nuff banana --> Many bananas Ten bwoy --> Ten boys
The copula is a connecting word; for example, in Jamaican Patois the copula is the letter ‘__’ which is used for the particle as well as for the continuous tense
The dominant ‘‘a”
Replaces - is, at, are, of, to, its, or I
It is use for present tense. It goes before verb
