Was/were: Uso e exceção

A

Past simple do verbo To Be.

I was; You were; He/She/It was; We were; You were; They were

ATENÇÃO: No SUBJUNCTIVE MODE, que expressa um desejo/possibilidade/esperança…, usa-se SEMPRE were (inclusive em I & He/She/It).

> > Ex: I wish he were here.
(Eu queria que ele ESTIVESSE aqui).

Present Perfect

A

Não há tempo verbal correspondente no português. “Passado que ainda interfere no presente”. Diferente do Past Simple, que é um passado já concluído.

AF: To Be + Have/has (+ not) + Verb (Past Participle )
Ex: I have studied to the test. / I’ve studied…

Ex. NEG: I have not (haven’t) studied…

Ex. INT: Has he studied to the test?
