A lifted movement with a hop.
What does assemble mean?
To join the feet together
What is an arabesque?
A balanced pose on one leg with the other leg extended behind or in front either on the gournf (a terre) on in the air (en l’aire).
What does retire mean?
To draw up (the foot up the leg)
What does battement glisse mean?
Battement - beat, glisse - glide
What does echappe mean?
To escape - movement of legs from closed to open position.
What is a changement?
To change the poistion of the feet in the air - join together in air, change and land with heels down in demi-plie.
What is a releve?
To snatch or rise to demi-pointe position - toes replace heels - feet remain in contact with floor throughout movement.
What is pas-de-chat?
Cat step - demi-plie, toe to knee, ote to knee, land in demi-plie.
What does glissade mean?
To glide.
