What are the symptoms of tuberculosis! (5)
- A cough that last for a long time
- getting weaker and thinner
- feeling tired
- not wanting to eat
- sweating at night
Can tuberculosis be cured?
Yes it can if the symptoms of spotted early enough
What is the treatment for TB!
- go to the clinic
- they will check under a microscope for the TB bacteria,
- They will take an extra day of your chest.
- They will give you tablets.
How long do you have to take TB tablets for
The tablets must be taken for 6 months every day but sometimes as long as two years
How can we prevent our selves from getting TB?
- Have the BCG vaccination
- cover your mouth when coughing
- never spit on the floor 4. everyone in the house be tested for TB
- the person with TB should sleep separately
What is diarrhoea?
- Stomach cramps
- going to the toilet often
- runny stool
Can you die from diarrhoea?
Yes you can, babies become dehydrated.
What does dehydrated mean?
Dehydrated means to not have enough fluid in your body for your body to work properly
How do you know if you are dehydrated
Your mouth is dry and you produced very little urine
What happens when you are VERY dehydrated
Your eyes are sunken you have no tears and your skin loses stretchiness
How do we treat diarrhoea!
Drink lots of water and make a mixture of water, sugar and salt to replace lost fluid
Give four examples on how to avoid health problems
- Eat healthy
- Get vaccinated
- Keep clean cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze
- Keep flies off food
- Don’t eat food that is off
What should you do if you are sick
Stay in bed and rest
Go to the doctor
Get medicine
What is pasteurising
Pasteurizing is when you heat milk to kill the germs that cause diarrhoea
How do we prevent malaria
Will use mosquito repellent and cover up beds with a net
