Reckless Discharge
A crime at common law for any person to recklessly discharge a firearm, whether or not actual injury is inflicted
Period of a Designated Sporting Event
A period which commences 2 hours before the start, or advertised start, and concludes 1 hour after the event
Relevant area (of a sports ground)
Any part of the ground to which spectators are granted access on payment or from which the event can be viewed directly
Ammunition
Any ammunition for any firearm and includes; grenades, bombs and other like missiles; whether capable of use with a firearm or not
Motor Vehicle
A mechanically propelled vehicle, intended or adapted, for use on the road
Public Road
A road which a roads authority have a duty to maintain
Driving
A person is held to be driving when they have control of the speed and the direction of the vehicle
Alcohol
Spirits, wine, beer, cider or any other fermented, distilled or spiritous liquor but does not include alcohol which is a strength of 0.5% or less, at the time of it’s sale
Controlled Container
A container of any description, which is or was capable of holding any liquid, and is made from a material which, if thrown or propelled at a person, could cause injury to that person
Mobbing and Rioting
A mob is a group of persons acting together for a common illegal purpose to the alarm of the lieges and in breach of the peace. It is a crime at common law to form a part of a mob
Road
Any way (other than a waterway), over which there is a public right of passage (by whatever means), and whether subject to a toll or not and includes the roads verges and any bridge (whether permanent or temporary) over which, or tunnel through which the road passes and any reference to a road includes parts thereof
Domestic Abuse
Any form of physical, sexual, mental or emotional abuse which may amount of criminal conduct which takes place within the context of a relationship. The relationship will be between partners (married, cohabiting, civil partnership or otherwise) or ex-partners. The abuse can be committed in the home or elsewhere
Firearm
A lethal barrelled weapon if any description, from which any shot, bullet or other missile can be discharged, and includes any “prohibited weapons” whether lethal barrelled or not, any “component part” from such a lethal or prohibited weapon, and any “accessory” to such weapons which are designed or adapted to diminish the sound or flash caused by firing the weapon.
Occupancy Rights
The right of an occupation to continue to occupy the matrimonial home, if not in occupation the right to enter into and occupy the matrimonial home, and in either case the right to do so together with any child of the family
Dangerous driving
A person is held to be driving dangerously if a competent and careful driver would consider-
That the driving falls below his/her standards and would consider the driving to be dangerous,
OR
That the current state of the vehicle being driven is dangerous.
