It makes your heart beat more slowly and with less force –> decreasing your BP
SE: dizzy, weakness, cold hands and feet

It stops clots forming
SEs: dizzy, headache, nosebleed
What does atorvostatin do in laymans terms for someone with IHD? + 2SEs?
It lowers your cholesterol, helping prevent stroke and heart attack
SE: headache, muscle ache, flushing,
What does lanzoprazole do? and why might it be prescribed in a pt with heart disease?
It is a PPI (suppresses stomach acid)
Given to counter the effects of antiplatalet medications such as aspirin / clopidogrel (as these may cause GI irritaiton)
PPI might be prescribed to prevent bleeding, inflammation or stomach ulcer forming
