SHREYAS SCHEME
Scheme for Higher Education Youth in Apprenticeship and Skills (SHREYAS) was launched by the Ministry of Human Resources Development.
To improve employability of students.
To forge a close functional link between education and industry/service sectors on a sustainable basis
To provide skills which are in demand
To establish an ‘earn while you learn’ system
To help business/industry in securing good quality manpower
To link student community with employment facilitating efforts of the Government.
It is a programme basket comprising the initiatives of three Central Ministries, namely the
o Ministry of Human Resource Development: introduction of BA/BSc/BCom (Professional) courses in the higher educational institutions.
o Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship: National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
o Ministry of Labour& Employment: National Career Service (NCS)
It will be implemented by the Sector Skill Councils (SSCs).
The programme would witness simultaneous implementation along three tracks:
o Add-on Apprenticeship
o Embedded Apprenticeship
o Linking National Career Service with Colleges
NORTH EAST SPECIAL INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT SCHEME (NESIDS)
It aims to ensure focused development of the North East region by providing financial assistance for projects of:
Physical infrastructure relating to water supply, power and connectivity and projects enhancing tourism.
Social sector for creation of infrastructure in areas of primary and secondary sectors of education and health.
It is a scheme under Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
ATAL JAIANUSANDHAN BIOTECH MISSION- UNDERTAKING NATIONALLY RELEVANT TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION (UNATI)
The Department of biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology has launched it.
To transform Health, Agriculture and Energy sectors during the next 5 years.
This mission includes:
o GARBH-ini: A Mission to promote Maternal and Child Health and develop prediction tools for pre-term birth,
o IndCEPI: A Mission to develop affordable vaccines for endemic diseases,
o Development of Biofortified and Protein Rich wheat contributing to POSHAN Abhiyan,
o Mission on Anti Microbial Resistance for Affordable Diagnostics and Therapeutics
o Clean Energy Mission- Innovative Technology interventions for Swachh Bharat.
Atal Jyoti Yojana
To provide ‘Solar Street Lighting Systems’ for public use like lighting roads, bus stops etc and improvement in security & safety through better lightening.
It is a sub scheme Under Off –grid and Decentralized Solar Thermal Application scheme of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Services limited (EESL) is its implementing agency.
• It will cover rural, semi urban and urban areas.
DEENDAYAL DISABLED REHABILITATION SCHEME (DDRS)
To create an enabling environment to ensure equal opportunities, equity, social justice and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
• To encourage voluntary action for ensuring effective implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
It is a Central Sector Scheme
• Implemented by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
• Provides financial assistance to facilitate delivery of various services to voluntary organizations’ grants-in-aid to NGOs.
• Promotes voluntary action: parents/guardians and voluntary organisations are encouraged to provide rehabilitation services.
UDAN 3.0
It is under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India is the implementing authority.
• It is a key component of National Civil Aviation Policy.
• It has a unique market-based model to develop regional connectivity.
• Provides connectivity to un-served and under-served airports of the country through revival of existing air-strips and airports.
• Inclusion of Tourism Routes in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism.
• Inclusion of Seaplanes for connecting Water Aerodromes
• Helicopter routes are not considered under the UDAN 3 bidding.
• It will be applicable on flights which cover distance between 200 km and 800 km with no lower limit set for hilly, remote, island and security sensitive regions.
• Airlines have to provide a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 40 UDAN Seats (subsidized rates).
• The Centre will subsidize the losses incurred by airlines flying out of dormant airports.
