What is an anarchy?
A situation where there is no government.
What is an absolute monarchy?
A country ruled by a sovereign (king, queen, emperor or empress tsar) where his/ her power is unlimited and inherited
What is a constitutional monarchy?
System of government in which a
monarch shares power with a
constitutionally elected government.
What is a dictatorship?
A country ruled by a single leader.
The leader may use force to keep control.
What is a Oligarchy?
A government in which a few people such as a dominant clan or group have power. Even countries that have democracies or monarchies may have just a small group controlling the government
What is a demoncracy?
A type of government in which power rests with the people, either directly or through elected representatives
What is communism?
The government owns property such as businesses and farms and provides its people’s healthcare, education and welfare.
What is a Republic?
Government in which the head of state is not a hereditary monarch but often has an elected President instead. The supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives.
