A country is ethnically the same. Example: Japan
Nation-State
To vote for someone to represents us in a government
Republic
The power is given to the people, the citizens, of the nation
Democracy
Every citizen is given an equal vote in government and, together make all of the important decisions
Direct Democracy
Citizens elect (vote for, or choose) lawmakers to represent their interest in the government
Indirect democracy
A government run by religious doctrine
Theocracy
A small group of people is in charge and might let only members of a certain social class participate in government, descendants of a few families, or even the heads of a few influential businesses
Oligarchy
There is no sharing with other authorities. the dictator is the sole ruler over their people
Dictatorship
The monarch holds total control over the country
Absolute Monarchy
One poliTotalitarian
Totalitarian
The monarch holds some power, but restricted by a constitution
Constitutional Monarchies
You get to vote for the President and the Legislature
Presidential Democracy
You get to vote for the legislature. The legislature then chooses the Prime Minister
Parliamentary Democracy
technically not a government because no one is incharge
Anarchy
A group of people who control the country, make laws, and keep order
