Citizens vote for their lawmakers to represent their interests in the government.

Government run by a religious doctrine.

A small group of people in charge.
Oligarchy
No sharing power with other authorities, the sole ruler of all the people.

A king/queen holds total control over the country.
Absolute Monarchy
Holds some power but it is restricted.

No one is in charge.

A group of people who control the country make laws and keep order.

What are the roles of Government?
To make and enforce laws, protect people and to provide public services.
What three powers do all governments have?
Make laws, enforce laws, and judiciary power (alter laws).
One political party is in power and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
