Majority Government
A government where the ruling party has more than half the seats in the House of Commons. more than 170 seats
Coalition Government
A government formed when two or more parties agree to work together to hold a majority.
Prorogue
Dissolution of government, usually done every 4 years
Dropping the Writ
When the governor-general announces the election
Riding
A geographical area represented by a Member of Parliament (also called an electoral district)
