Q

How did Henry control the nobility - Great council

A

Included all noblemen and was used to trap councillors into remaining loyal - a useful form of control as they were a way of gaining the agreement and support of his most important subjects for any potentially controversial policy
- met only 5 times to discuss important matters e.g. war/rebellion
- nobles would struggle to criticise Henry for a policy especially because they were also included in and had agreed to a major decision
