Autocracy
One person in power (Example: Monarchy and Dictatorship)
Totalitarian
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what government tells them.
Monarchy
A king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line.
Absolute monarchy
King or queen has all the power
Constitutional monarchiy
This is when the monarch holds some power but it is restricted by a constitution.
Oligarchy
A small group of people is in charge.
Democracy
The power is given to the people, the citizens of the nation.
direct democracy
Every citizen is given an equal vote in the government.
Representative democracy
Citizen elect, vote for, or choose lawmakers to represent their interest. (Also known as indirect democracy)

There is no sharing power with other authorities.

U.S citizens vote on representatives to make laws and decisions.

A government run by a religious doctrine.
