autocracy
One person is in power Example:(monarchy and dictatorship).
totalitarian
one political party is in power and people are forced to do what the government tells them.

The monarchy holds total control over the country

this is when the monarch holds some power, but it is restricted by a constitution.
dictatorship
there is no sharing power with other authorities.

a small group of people is in charge.

the power is given to people.

Representative democracy is modeled after the Ancient Roman Republic.
Theocracy
a government run by religious doctrine.
Indirect democracy
this is where citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interests in the government.

type of republic that operates under a system of separation of powers.

technically not a government at ALL.
what are the roles of government?
To make and enforce laws, protect people and to provide public services.
what three powers do all governments have?
Make Laws, enforce laws and judiciary power (alter laws).
presidential democracy
the head of government is directly or indirectly elected by a group of citizens and is not responsible to the legislature, and the legislature cannot dismiss the president except in extraordinary cases.
parliamentary Democracy
the party with the greatest representation in the parliament forms the government, its leader becoming prime minister or chancellor.
