Autocracy
One person is in power. (Monarchy, and Dictatorship)
Totalitarian
One political party is in power, ( people are forced to do what the government tells them) China.
Monarchy
A king or queen inherits there power through there family line.
Absolute Monarchy
The monarch holds total control over the country.
Constitutional Monarchies
When the monarch holds some power but, its restricted by the government.
Dictatorship
There is no sharing power with other authorities, The dictator is the sole ruler over their country.
Oligarchy
A small group of people is in charge.
Democracy
The power is given to the people, or the citizens of the nation.
Direct Democracy
This is where every citizen is given an equal vote in government, and together all make the important decisions.
Representative Democracy
Citizens elect lawmakers to represent there interests in government.
Indirect Democracy
Citizens elect lawmakers to represent there interests in government.
Constitutional Republic
The United States is this type of government. Or the type of indirect democracy used in the USA.
Executive ,Legislative, and Judicial
Modern democracies divide power into what 3 branches.
Theocracy
A government run by a religious doctrine.
Anarchy
No government, nobody is in charge.
