Autocracy
one person in power.
Totalitarian
One political party is in power. and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
Monarchy
A king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line.
Absolute Monarchy
The Monarch holds a total control over the country
Constitutional Monarchies
This is when monarchy holds some power but is restricted by a constitution.
Dictatorship
There is no sharing power with other athourties.
Oligarchy
A small group of people is in charge.
Democracy
The power is given to the people, the citizens of the nation.

This is when every citizen is given an equal vote in government and, together make all of the important decisions.
Representative democracy
also called an indirect democracy or a republic.
Constitutional republic
The US can be called a constitutional republic.
Theocracy
Is a government run by religious doctrine.
Anarchy
No one is in charge.
Indirect democracy
A type of democratic government in which voters choose delegates to create the laws of government on their behalf.
presidential democracy
People directly vote for the president and representatives in legislature Representatives make and vote in laws while the president approves the law.
