Autocracy
One person is in power.(Example: Monarch or Dictatorship)
Totalitarian
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
Constitutional Monarchies
When the monarch holds some power, but it is restricted by a constitution.
Monarchy
When a king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line.
Direct Democracy
This is when every citizen is given an equal vote in the government and, together, makes all of the important decisions.
Absolute Monarchy
The monarch holds total control of the whole country.
Dictatorship
When there is no sharing power with other authorities.
Oligarchy
A small group of people is in charge.
Representative Democracy
(also called indirect democracy) This is where citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interests in the government.

The power is given to the people, the citizens, of the nation.

(also called Representative Democracy)This is where citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interests in the government.
Constitutional Republic
Also Called a Representative Democracy. This is where citizens vote on representatives to make laws and decisions for the country.
What are the roles of Government?
To make and enforce laws, protect people and to provide public services.
Theocracy
a government run by religious doctrine
Anarchy
