Autocracy
One person is in power
Totalitarian
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
Monarchy
A King or Queen inherits their power and position through their family line
Absolute Monarchy
The monarch holds total control over the country
Constitutional monarchies
The monarch holds some power but it is restricted by a Constitution
Dictatorship
There is no sharing power with other Authorities
Oligarchy
A small group of people in charge
Democracy
The power given to the people
Direct Democracy
This is when every citizen is given an equal vote in government (OF VOTING AGE)
Representive Democracy
also Called indirect Democracy this is where citizens elect (Vote for or chose) lawmakers to represent their interests in the government
Indirect democracy
also Called Representive Democracy this is where citizens elect (Vote for or chose) lawmakers to represent their interests in the government
Constitutional republic
As an indirect democracy U.S. Citizens vote on representatives to make laws and decisions for the country.
