Autocracy
One person has the power.( Example: Monarchy and Dictatorship)
Monarchy
Monarchy a king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line.
Absolute Monarchy
The monarch holds total control over the country.
Constitutional Monarchies
the monarch holds some power, but it is restricted by a constitution.
Dictatorship
There is no sharing power with other authorities.
Oligarchy
A small group of people is in charge.
Democracy
The power is given to the people the citizens of the nation (Ruled by the people).
Representative Democracy
This is where citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interests in the government.( Note: This is also known as indirect Democracy.
Direct Democracy
This is when every citizen is given an equal vote in government.
Theocracy
A government run by religious doctrine
Constitutional Republic
Citizens vote on representatives to make laws and decisions for the country
Modern Democracies divide power into what 3 branches?
Judicial, Legislative, and Executive
What Three powers that all governments have?
Make laws, Enforce laws, and Judicial power( court).
Anarchy
No one is in charge
Indirect Democracy
