Autocracy
one person has the power
Monarchy
king or queen has their power and position through the family line
Totalitarian
one political party is in power
Absolute Monarchy
the king or queen hold total control over the whole country
Constitutional Monarchy
the king or queen holds some power, but it is restricted by a constitution
Dictatorship
there is no sharing power with other people, they stay supreme leader, or leader until they die
Oligarchy
a small group of people is in charge
Democracy
the power is given to the people/citizens
Direct Democracy
every citizen is given an equal vote in government and together, make all the important decisions
Representative Democracy
citizen elect lawmakers to represent interests in the government (also known as indirect democracy)
Indirect Democracy
citizen elect lawmakers to represent interests in the government. (also known as
representative democracy)
Constitutional Republic
citizens vote to make laws and decisions for the country
Theocracy
a government run by religious doctrine
Anarchy
no one is in charge
