Autocracy
One person has the power. Example: Monarchy or Dictatorship.
Totalitarian
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
Monarchy
A king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line.
Absolute Monarchy
Monarch holds total control over the country.

Monarch holds some power

A written or unwritten document that lays out the structure of a government.
Dictatorship
There is no sharing power with other authorities.
Oligarchy
A small group of people is in charge.
Democracy
The power is given to the people.
Direct Democracy
An equal vote in government and, together, make of all of the important decisions.
Representative Democracy
Where citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interests in the government.
Theocracy
A government run by religious doctrine.
Modern democracies divide the power into what 3 branches
Legislative, Executive, Judicial.
Anarchy
No one is in charge.
