Autocracy
A king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line.
Monarchy
Holds total control over the country.
Absolute Monarchy
When the monarch holds some power, but is restricted by a constitution.
Constitutional Monarchies
The dictator is the sole ruler over their country.
Dictatorship
A small group of people is in charge.
Oligarchy
The power is giving to the people, the citizens, of the nation.
Democracy
Every citizen is giving an equal vote in government and, together, make all of the important decisions.
Direct Democracy
Citizens elect (vote for, or choose) lawmakers to represent their interests in the government( can be called indirect democracy)
