Autocracy
One person has all the power (example: dictatorship or monarchy)
Monarchy
A king or queen inherits their power and position through their family line.
Constitutional monarchies
A monarch that holds some power, but it’s restricted by a constitution.
Absolute monarchy
A monarch that holds total control over the country.
Dictatorship
The dictator is the sole ruler over their country.
Oligarchy
A small group of people is in charge.
Democracy
The power is 100% given to the people/citizens, of the nation.
Direct Democracy
Every citizen is given an equal vote in government and, together, make all of the important decisions.
Representative Democracy
Citizens elect/ vote for lawmakers to represent their interests in the government.
Constitutional Republic
U.S citizens vote on representatives to make laws and decisions for the country, according to the rules laid out in the U.S Constitution.
Theocracy
A government run by religious doctrine.
Anarchy
In a anarchy, no one is in charge.
Court system
The power to make laws, enforce laws & judicial power.
The 3 branches
Legislative, Executive, and Judicial.
Totalitarian
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
