Autocracy
one person has all the power(example, dictatorship or monarchy)
Totalitarian
one political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them
Monarchy
A king or queen inherits their title through their family line.
Absolute monarchy
the monarch holds total control over the country
constitutional monarchies
this is when the monarch holds some power, but it is restricted by a constitution
dictatorship
there is no sharing power with other authorities
direct democracy
this is when every citizen is given and equal vote in government, and together, make all of the important decisions
Representative democracy
Representative democracy, also called indirect democracy. Representative democracy is modeled after the Ancient Roman Republic. this is where citizens elect (vote for, or choose) lawmakers to represent their interests in the government
Presidential democracy
people vote directly vote for the countries leader and legislature. the legislature makes laws and the president approves or denies the laws
Parliamentary democracy
people only vote for their legislature. The political party that has the most seats gets to choose the Prime minister
Indirect democracy
