What are the roles of Government?
To make and enforce laws, protect people and to provide public services.
A country is ethnically the same. Example: Japan
Nation - State
Vote for someone to represent us in Government.
Republic
The power is given to the people, the citizens, of the nation
Democracy
This is when every citizen is given an equal vote in government and, together, make all of the important decisions.
Direct Democracy.
A government run by religious doctrine.
Theocracy
Modeled after the Ancient Roman Republic. This is where citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interest in the government.
Indirect Democracy.
A small group of people is in charge.
Oligarchy
There is no sharing power with other authorities.
Dictatorship
The monarch holds total control over the country.
Absolute Monarchy.
When a monarch hols some power but it is restricted by a constitution.
Constitutional Monarchies.
No one is in charge.
Anarchy.
A group of people who control the country, make laws, keep order.
Government.
What 3 powers do all governments have?
Make laws, enforce laws and judiciary power(alter laws).
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
Totalitarian.
