Nation-State
when you vote for someone to represent is in government. Example, United States
Republic
The power is given to the people, the citizens, of the nation.
Democracy
This is when every citizen is given an equal vote in government and, together, make all the important decisions.
Direct Democracy
Is where citizens vote for lawmakers to represent their interest in the government.
Indirect democracy
Is a government run by religious doctrine.
Theocracy
A small group of people is in charge.
Oligarchy
There is no sharing power with other authorities.
Dictatorship
The monarch holds total control over the country.
Absolute Monarchy
This is when the monarch holds some power, but it is restricted by a constitution.
Constitutional Monarchy
No one is in charge.
Anarchy
A group of people who control the country, make laws, and keep order.

Make and enforce laws, protect people and to provide public services.
What three powers do all governments have?
Make laws, enforce laws and judiciary power.
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
